Ok the last few days the site has been getting more and more hits and I would say its probably just a moment but I've got my fingers crossed it keeps going. So just like to say a massive thank you to all that have been checking my website out and please keep coming back as I'm still working on it and adding more recipes and information on different BBQ's. Please share the site with your friends and thanks again people!
Well working nearly right through the bank holiday, woo not, and I doubt there will be any BBQ's going from my garden :( If I can get some mince I'll make up some burgers for a quick BBQ but nothing special will happen. Need to get some decent briquettes as the cheap one's I have at the moment burn out far to quick! Probably won't see a decent BBQ now till well into June but I'll just spend more time on my website so you all have more to read :)
Well that's the end of that for now, back to cloudy sky's and possible rain later in the week. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and no burnt food :) I had a simple BBQ yesterday with home made burgers, some mackerel, chicken fillets and a sirloin steak for me. Went very well and the home made burgers were very juicy and lots of flavour, think I'll be testing lots of different flavours over the coming weeks :)
Didn't get anything for roast today as we got to the butchers late and they had been pretty much cleared out from people buying for BBQ sunshine, my own fault. So of to Lidl's in a bit, get a chicken, their meat is very nice and all British as well. Think another beer can chicken is in order, watch here for the out come. It's real hot, plenty of people should be out there with their BBQ's so lets hope they cook their food properly and for those that know how to use it correctly have a super good weekend.
If you got a lid use it, it you don't make sure you got an indirect area for helping reduce that flare up :) Well I finally got my roast pork loin and it turned out great. I soaked it for about 4 hours and cooked it for about 4 hours and I was very happy. Turned out to be very nice meal and my partner real enjoyed it after having been at work all day.
Saturday was pretty good too, had some mate's round and had your regular BBQ with some steak's, burgers and sausages, all went down very well and hopefully they are up for more again next month. Well not done much to the site this week, had rotten man flu and my little girl been ill too so really not had time or felt up to BBQing :( But im hoping for things to be better by Sunday as I have been into my butchers this week and ordered my pork loin roast. Yes I will still BBQ it even if im not that well but things are a lot more enjoyable when you don't feel
So roast pork loin is now off as I forgot to see the butcher in the week and I got into the butcher late today. I will now be cooking beer can chicken which im actually really looking forward to now as I've not had roast chicken for some time now. Well pork loin roast is on the menu for next Sunday now unless the mrs changes her mind. Watch this space.
Ok well the weekend is looking good so far and I will be doing pork loin for Sunday roast. I'm after idea's of people on The Smoke Ring forum and have had 1 already of someone there.
Other than that I had my parents round this evening and I treated them to my home made lasagne which is made with my home made sauce along with some home made garlic bread with cheese and paprika :) on the side was potato bake. Then I dished up dessert which was my chocolate molten pudding's but with my twist of using dark orange 74% coco chocolate in them served with double cream and strawberry slices. All in all a very successful night. So keep watching the site for my Sunday pork roast and hope you all have a good BBQ week. Well I don't have much for the week going on but the weekend is looking like a very sunny one and I do have pork loin planned for the Sunday roast. Next week I'm looking to do pork pulled butt which will be the first time I've done that, the forum I use has a lot of users who do it so I shouldn't be short of help if needed. I do need to get hold of some Weber Briquettes mind as this lump wood burn's through to quickly for my liking, still not found anything that competes with Weber Briquettes for burn time.
I've also been thinking about how I could maybe do a BBQ lesson for local people, probably a lot of rules and stuff involved but it would be really good to be able to show people how much better a BBQ can be if used in the correct manner. Not sure if there would be anyone interested but even if there was only 2 people who wanted to learn that would be a start right? Going to have to do so proper research I reckon. Anyway not much else going on, only have enough charcoal for Sunday's roast at the moment so I'm afraid there won't be no more showing until then. Well it turned out excellent today, the sun kept showing its face and the BBQ went very well. Was running round lots too as I had my baby daughter to look after as my partner was working but I managed to make it all work and got it all done in time. Go to "My BBQ Meals" page and check out "Top Rump Roast" sub page for the story.
