Well pay day end of the week so I'm going to treat myself to my first pork butt. I've seen and heard lots about them and think I know what I need to do :) Working funny hours the weekend and I've got Monday off so I going to slow smoke the pork butt all day then. I think I'll do a video on this like I did with my ribs but as normal I'll post the video here and a link in my Facebook BBQ group to the youtube link when its done.
Well I had my first pork rib rack on the BBQ this weekend and it turned out good. Very happy with it so will be doing this again for sure. Going to work on different rubs and sauces with future ribs and see what flavours I can come up with. Video and pictures will be posted up

Well had fun and games videoing my BBQ today. Don't have a camcorder so tried using the video maker on my camera and that was bad, lost videos doing it. So I had a look at the video recorder on my model and damn I should have thought of that first. It records amazing and had no issues. The video I did of starting the BBQ is lost so the final video I have which I'm going to upload is the cooking of the chicken. Its all cut together fairly well but isn't perfect as the first part is of the crappy camera then the rest is from my mobile. Link will be posted soon.
Well the weather has been super bad, very high winds, tons of rain and all this has meant the BBQ has been sitting cold. Haven't done anything to the website for a few days, work work and my baby girl have left me tired lol but I aim to get more done this week.
I'm currently trying to make some video's for my new youtube channel but at the moment only have a camera with video mode on it. So these video's need converting which takes time, hoping they will be posted by tonight. The first video will be starting your charcoal video, basic and a good starting base for me as I've never done anything like this before. The second video will be my take on beer can chicken, no beer, lots of lemon juice :) so watch for my next blog update telling you to check my youtube link out for my new video's. Well working lots in the real world and trying to do work on the site as well as doing family stuff. Really know how to make myself busy lol So I now have a Twitter account which is linked on the site, top right hand corner and my facebook group is also linked in the same corner. Also now have a youtube account which is only for BBQ video uploads and BBQ video sharing. Also created a FB BBQ account which will only be anything BBQ :) Feel like im picking up a bit of speed with this now and hoping it gets more hits for it all. Fingers crossed.
Ok the last few days the site has been getting more and more hits and I would say its probably just a moment but I've got my fingers crossed it keeps going. So just like to say a massive thank you to all that have been checking my website out and please keep coming back as I'm still working on it and adding more recipes and information on different BBQ's. Well working nearly right through the bank holiday, woo not, and I doubt there will be any BBQ's going from my garden :( If I can get some mince I'll make up some burgers for a quick BBQ but nothing special will happen. Need to get some decent briquettes as the cheap one's I have at the moment burn out far to quick! Probably won't see a decent BBQ now till well into June but I'll just spend more time on my website so you all have more to read :)
Well that's the end of that for now, back to cloudy sky's and possible rain later in the week. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and no burnt food :) I had a simple BBQ yesterday with home made burgers, some mackerel, chicken fillets and a sirloin steak for me. Went very well and the home made burgers were very juicy and lots of flavour, think I'll be testing lots of different flavours over the coming weeks :)
Didn't get anything for roast today as we got to the butchers late and they had been pretty much cleared out from people buying for BBQ sunshine, my own fault. So of to Lidl's in a bit, get a chicken, their meat is very nice and all British as well. Think another beer can chicken is in order, watch here for the out come. It's real hot, plenty of people should be out there with their BBQ's so lets hope they cook their food properly and for those that know how to use it correctly have a super good weekend.
If you got a lid use it, it you don't make sure you got an indirect area for helping reduce that flare up :) |
